Mamesaku had her misedashi, or debut as a maiko, in the Gion Kobu hanamachi (geisha district). She went to ochaya (tea houses), okiya (geisha houses), and local stores to thank everyone for their support.
I really, really like this picture, although I don't know why. I normally hate getting the other photographers into one of my shots. I think I like this one because I think it looks soulful.
