Kimika had her Erikae, or her debut as a geiko, in which she visited okiya (geisha houses), ochaya (tea houses), and local stores to thank everyone for their support.

Kimika was ranked as Number One before her erikae... meaning she is damn popular. Maybe that explains the 40+ photographers that attended her debut.

That's because she is perfect . She's practically on everyone's top three maiko list.

I thought she was high ranking, just judging from her poise and the title... and the comment confirmed it. Goodness, she's stunning! <3

"Freedom's" just another word for "nothin' left to lose."

It's not suprising that she's so popular. She looked perfect as a maiko and she looks damn perfect as a geiko!
:iconfuyou-hime:
I wasn't at all surprised either ;). I was sure that if she wasn't number one, she was definintely in the top three.

She's very beautiful, and one of my favorites. I was thrilled that I could attend her Erikae.

So is she number one just in Miyagawa-cho or out of all five hanamachi?
:iconfuyou-hime:
She is number one in Miyagawacho. I don't think the hanamachi release their numbers to each other or anyone else, so there's no way of really telling which maiko or geiko is the best in all of Kyoto. Hmmm... I don't think that would be fair, since people go to the different hanamachi for different reasons. They say that Kamishichiken is a place that Kyotoites take other Kyotoites, for example, so they'd have a hard time competing against Gion's tourist numbers.
