Revisited: Honne

I was looking through my pictures from my stay in Japan, and I thought I should post some of the images I never used.

This is Wakana during her erikae. I remember the first time I saw this photo I laughed. Wakana has always had the most interesting pictures, mostly because she doesn't seem to have the same veneer most geiko have. Many geiko will put on that perfect face when cameras are around, either emotionless, pristine, or holding a hint of a smile. Wakana instead has the smiles, the frowns, the laughs, the quirks, everything. Her pictures are so candid, full of honne- true feeling. I love it.
